Peters breaks ground on new skate park in Carmel Valley

SAN DIEGO - Council President Scott Peters, Mayor Jerry Sanders and residents of Carmel Valley celebrated the start of construction of a new community skate facility on El Camino Real.  The 33,000 square foot facility includes a three-part "bowl" area, ramps, steps and other surfaces to suit both novice and experienced skaters. The park will also include shaded areas, restrooms, an observation area and enhanced lighting. The property is immediately adjacent to the new Northwestern Police Substation, completed last year.
