SAN DIEGO - Council President Scott Peters, San Diego Fire Chief Tracy Jarman and Mayor Jerry Sanders joined representatives of Pardee Homes on Wednesday, February 6 for an event to mark the opening of Fire Station 47 in Pacific Highlands Ranch. The 10,500 square foot facility features three equipment bays and 11 dormitories, in addition to separate work and ready areas. Currently, the station hosts a 4-member crew, and is designed to add staff as the community grows.
The opening of Fire Station 47 improves fire protection and reduce response times in the communities of Pacific Highlands Ranch, Carmel Valley, Del Mar Mesa and Torrey Highlands.
"This station and the Northwestern Police Station will greatly improve fire and emergency response times in these communities," noted Council President Peters, "bringing the residents here the peace of mind that comes from knowing your public safety personnel are when you need them the most."
