San Diego - The Mission Times Courier has joined a growing list of endorsers for Scott Peters for City Attorney, reporting that "Without a doubt, the person best qualified to replace the incumbent...is City Council President Scott Peters."
The paper wrote: "The Mission Times Courier asks you to join the San Diego Firefighters Association, the League of Conservation Voters, State Senators Christine Kehoe and Dede Alpert, and a growing coalition of teachers, environmentalists, business and community leaders and voters throughout San Diego in support of Scott Peters."
Scott has won the support of a board coalition of environmentalists, small business leaders and educators. San Diego Education Association President Camille Zombro endorsed San Diego City Council President Scott Peters for city attorney earlier in the month, calling Scott a "leader who fights to do the right thing and for the right causes."

The Scott Peters for City Attorney campaign is proud to announce the endorsement of the San Diego Democratic Women's Club.
"I thank the San Diego Democratic Women's Club for their support and for hosting this vigilant endorsement process," said Peters. "It was an excellent opportunity to talk to informed, active women voters about my record of fighting for solutions, and my plans to restore trust, integrity and professionalism to the City Attorney's office."
The extensive endorsement process included a lengthy questionnaire, presentations by the candidates and question and answer sessions at two separate meetings. After lengthy discussion, the group backed Peters.
Club member Lee Burdick, who spoke out on Peters' behalf during the endorsement debate, said that all politics aside, "the most important thing to remember is that the City Attorney must be a highly skilled attorney. Scott Peters is by far the most qualified of the candidates in the field to serve as San Diego's next City Attorney."
Peters adds the Democratic Women to a long list of endorsements which includes: San Diego City Firefighters, San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council, the San Diego Municipal Employees Association, Senators Christine Kehoe and Dede Alpert (ret.), Assemblyman Howard Wayne (ret.), Councilmembers Toni Atkins, Ben Hueso and Jim Madaffer and the San Diego Democratic Club.
Most recently San Diego Education Association President Camille Zombro gave Peters her personal endorsement.
The San Diego Democratic Women's Club was founded in 1955 as the county's oldest democratic club. The group represents the only democratic club for women in San Diego County
